Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) Departments and Jamb Cut off mark 2021/2022. 3 mins. Read
Abia state university is a coeducational higher education institution/ Nigerian university located in the eastern state (Abia) of Nigeria.
It was established by Gov. Sam Mbakwe the former governor of the Imo state when Abia state was originally part of the Imo state.
The university pride itself on being capable of producing a lot of powerful and successful dignitaries in Nigeria and beyond today.
Abia State University is accredited and officially recognized by NUC (National Universities Commission), Nigeria.
They are rumoured to be the best for teaching law in Nigeria as their law graduates always stand out in society. I pride myself on being an alumnus of Absu, so you’re getting the best information.
Abia State University just like many other state universities requires not only Jamb cut off mark but also has their designated departmental cut off Mark, which varies according to the various faculties such as:
- Faculty of Medicine
- Faculty of Biological Sciences
- Faculty of physical sciences
- And many more.
Abia State University (ABSU) covers over 60-degree accredited departments from this faculty ranging from medical courses such as medicine and surgery, nursing, medical laboratory, pharmacy, optometry, and so on.
Physical, biological, and social sciences courses, humanities, art-related courses such as law, mass communication, accounting, engineering, and so on.
Jamb officials cut off mark remains 150.
Abia state university’s management has released the cut off mark for the 2022/2023 academic session and it’s stated as seen below.
The Cut off Mark for Abia State University is 160. However, candidates/prospects are told to make Absu their first choice in the Jamb registration.
Also, prospects are said to must have a minimum of five (5) Credits in the relevant O’Level subjects in one sitting this includes English language and mathematics.
This makes you eligible and gives you an upper hand in gaining admission to Abia State University.
For their departmental cut off mark; usually, Abia State University(Absu) releases cut off mark only after the results of post-time is out.
To be on the safe side, I advise that you target a minimum score of 250 and above in JAMB to give you a high chance of gaining admission into Abia State University to study your choice of course.
However not scoring up to 250 scores in a jamb doesn’t mean you have lost your chance to be admitted, some courses do not require more than 200, and also various opportunities still come up such as supplementary exams, and the IAS program.
This gives you a second chance to secure admission, but often require that you change your course to suit the requirements for supplementary and IAS program.
Also if you do not meet up with their requirements, you can still opt for a change of institution and apply to an institution with lesser requirements. Note that it’s a decision you need to make early.
Well whichever decision you make, I wish you the best of luck. Cheers!
