1. Reach Oxford Scholarship
This scholarship was previously called the Oxford student scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to 3 eligible African students.
Reach Oxford scholarship is eligible for African students, at the undergraduate level at the University of Oxford. The scholarship could be renewed by students for a duration of 3-4yrs, depending on the applicant’s undergraduate course length.
Reach Oxford scholarship is financed to assist African students from low-income countries, who are unable to acquire an undergraduate degree in their home country.
Applicants who successfully received the scholarship will gain the following benefits;
The scholarship will pay for students’ tuition fees.
The scholarship will also fund students’ monthly expenses incurred.
The scholarship will also pay for one of the students ‘ flight expenses yearly.
2. Simon and June Li Undergraduate Scholarship
These scholarships will provide funding for African students, who have shown good educational merits, and are studying at the undergraduate level at the University of Oxford.
The scholarship could be renewed by students for a duration of 3-4yrs, depending on the applicant’s undergraduate course length.
Simon and June Li Undergraduate Scholarship were founded by Simon and June Li, to financially assist African students facing financial difficulties or issues.

3. Somerville College: Qatar-Thatcher Scholarship
This scholarship was established to financially, assist women when their chosen universities refused to grant them admission.
Somerville College: Qatar-Thatcher Scholarship will also provide financial support for many, who due to their different beliefs are lacking financial assistance to enable them to study their chosen undergraduate course.
The scholarship could be renewed by students for a duration of 3-4yrs, depending on the applicant’s undergraduate course length.
Eligibility Criteria for African Initiative Students Scholarship at the University of Oxford
Below are the requirements interested applicants must possess before they would be eligible to apply for the Undergraduate scholarship;
- The scholarship is only available for African students to apply.
- The scholarship is only available to undergraduate African students wishing to study at the University of Oxford, or African students who are freshers.
- Interested applicants from all undergraduate courses at the University of Oxford, are eligible EXCEPT for applicants in medicine.
- However, most colleges at undergraduate levels at the University of Oxford may decide not, to participate in any of the African Initiative students’ scholarships. But this will not in any way prevent interested applicants from applying, and gaining the scholarship.
- The University of Oxford scholarship for African Initiative students will only be received by applicants, who have accepted their admission offer into the University.
- Applicants must need financial assistance and show their commitment to social responsibilities.
- Applicants must be willing to return to their home country, at the end of their studies in their undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford
Please note, that interested applicants who have never applied, or studied at an undergraduate level will be considered more.
Once applicants are offered any of the undergraduate courses at the University of Oxford for the present academic year, they should then proceed to apply for any of the undergraduate scholarships online to which they are eligible.

Please note that applicants applying for scholarships at the University of Oxford, for the present academic year will undergo a selection process in March of that same year.
Successful applicants would be notified via email in April, of that same year.
Once applicants have received the scholarship, and to continue holding the scholarship they are required to write and submit a yearly report on their academic performance, and social activities they carry out at the University of Oxford.
Applicants when selected for the scholarship at the University of Oxford, are expected to show tremendous academic progress.
Please note that scholarship for African Initiative students at the University of Oxford, is extremely fierce and the University will not offer any other scholarship fund to compensate students who were not awarded a scholarship.
However, if applicants or students were once offered an undergraduate course at the University of Oxford but deferred admission for one reason or the other, they could apply for the University of Oxford scholarship for African Initiative students. The application must be done in January, the same year they are willing to resume their course of study at the University of Oxford.
