1. South Carolina Resident Scholarships
The University of South Carolina offers many different merit scholarships to freshmen who reside in South Carolina.
This scholarship is the State Scholarships for S.C. Residents and it has many awards under it.
This scholarship awards several funding to students who are South Carolina residents.

Any scholarship listed in this section can be added to any university-issued scholarship.
– Palmetto Fellows Scholarship
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $6,700 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. After the first year, you would be awarded $7,500 from your second year till your finals
Eligibility
For you to be eligible for this scholarship you must be a Southern Carolina high school student with an exemplary academic record.
The selected student will be a beneficiary of Palmetto Fellows.

– The Legislative Incentives for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $5,000 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. The recipient will receive a total of $20,000 for the 4years program
The LIFE Scholarship is a state-awarded scholarship that is awarded every year to an applicant.
Eligibility
For you to be eligible for this scholarship you must meet two of the following requirements being stated.
The requirements are
* Your final, CGPA should be at least a “B” which is 3.00
* Your SAT score should be at least 1100 on critical reading and math sections combined or your ACT composite score should be at least 24
* You should graduate in the top 30 percent of your class.
– Palmetto Fellows and LIFE Scholarship Enhancements
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $2,500 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. The recipient will receive a total of $7,500 for the 3years program. The scholarships are being given in their second year
An applicant who has been selected for any of the Palmetto Fellows and LIFE Scholarship and is enrolled in math and science majors can apply for an enhancement award which should be done in their second year of enrollment.
Eligibility
Applicants must have completed 14 hours in mathematics or life or physical science, or any combination of both, during their first year.

– South Carolina HOPE Scholarship
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $2,800 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program.
Please note that this scholarship is for freshmen only.
Eligibility
For you to be eligible your CGPA must be at least a “B” that is a 3.00
Please note that if you are a recipient of Palmetto Fellows or LIFE scholarship, you are eligible for this scholarship.
2. Non-South Carolina Resident Scholarship
The University of Southern Carolina offers various merit scholarships to freshmen who are non-South Carolina residents. The university has the following awards under this category
– Provost Scholars Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded a reduction in their tuition fee of up to $6,000 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $104,400 reduced for the 4years of their study program
This scholarship is awarded to National Merit Finalists and National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars every year.
This award comes with competition and it begins when you take the PSAT/NMSQT in your junior year of high school.
Eligibility
For you to be eligible, you must list the University of South Carolina as your first choice through the National Merit Corporation.
Then the National Hispanic Recognition Program will send the university names of the students that have been selected for the program.
Please note that this scholarship can be combined with other scholarships and selected students are qualified for the in-state tuition rate if this is their sole award.
– Alumni Scholars Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $8,000 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $116,900 reduced for the 4years of their study program
This scholarship was created by the Carolina Alumni Association.
This scholarship signifies outstanding achievement in academics, talent, and leadership.
Eligibility
For you to be eligible, you must submit both an application to the University of Southern Carolina and a Top Scholars application supplement to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

15 students will qualify for the in-state tuition rate.
– Academic Scholar – Elite Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $4,000 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $100,900 reduced for the 4years of their study program

Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $2,000 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $92,900 reduced for the 4years of their study program

– Academic Scholar – Superlative Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $500 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $86,900 reduced for the 4years of their study program
Please note that
Selected students qualify for the in-state tuition rate.
– Academic Scholar – Distinction Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $500 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $62,192 reduced for the 4years of their study
The selected applicant will be awarded a significant tuition reduction of nearly half of the out-of-state rate.
– Academic Scholar – Merit Award
Award:- Selected applicants will be awarded up to $500 and it is to be awarded every year for the duration of their course program. Recipients will receive a total of $40,784 reduced for the 4years of their study program
