The GREAT Scholarships 2024 that is funded for Ghana and Pakistan students and prospective students for the 2022 scheme is jointly funded by Bangor University, the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, and the British Council. Each scholarship for Ghana and Pakistan students is worth £10,000 towards the tuition fee for a one-year postgraduate course at Bangor University.
Application for the GREAT scholarship must be done by May2024, after registration Ghana and Pakistan students will be informed in June of that same year if the application process was successful. Ghana and Pakistan students whose scholarship form was successful, have one week to accept the GREAT scholarship, further delay the scholarship will be awarded to other Ghana and Pakistan students.
With a scholarship amount of £10,000 available for Ghana and Pakistan students, 2 scholarships are available under the GREAT scholarship for Ghana and Pakistan students in postgraduate courses at Bangor University.
Ghana and Pakistan students can only apply if they fulfill the conditions listed below;
- Applicants must be citizens of either Ghana or Pakistan.
- Applicants must want to apply for a postgraduate program at Bangor University in September (year).
- Applicants or students from Ghana and Pakistan must be motivated and readily prepared to follow the postgraduate course to the end.
- Applicants or candidates must be active in the postgraduate field with work experience or proven interest in the postgraduate courses.
- Applicants or candidates must meet the compulsory/mandatory English Language requirement of their chosen postgraduate program.
Ghana and Pakistan students can apply for a GREAT scholarship by checking their eligibility process, they must have received a scholarship offer letter from Bangor University, Candidates must complete the GREAT scholarship form latest May.

Scholarship Available for Ghana and Pakistan Students in undergraduate courses at Bangor University available for International Students Including Ghana and Pakistan Students in the undergraduate courses includes; a vice-chancellor scholarship where students or prospective undergraduate students will pay a sum of 10,000 Pounds which is eligible for all countries[Ghana and Pakistan] excluding the Uk and EU countries, dean’s scholarship where students or prospective undergraduate students will pay a sum up to 6,000 Pounds which is eligible for all countries[including Ghana and Pakistan] excluding EU and UK countries.
Another scholarship is an international scholarship where students or prospective students will pay up to 4,000 Pounds which is eligible for all countries[Ghana and Pakistan include] but EU and UK countries are excluded.
Alumni /Existing students/Family discount is another scholarship available for international students with a fee of 1,000 Pounds each year in addition to Bangor University international scholarship for international students which includes Ghana and Pakistan students or prospective students.
Bangor University entrance scholarship scheme is another scholarship program available for international students including Ghana and Pakistan students or prospective students already in any of the undergraduate courses at Bangor University or about to apply for any of the Undergraduate courses at Bangor University.
Ghana and Pakistan students would pay a fee of 3,000 pounds. However, certain conditions must be fulfilled by Ghana and Pakistan students which include;
Ghana and Pakistan Students must pass Bangor University’s annual entrance scholarship examination.
Ghana and Pakistan students must complete the Bangor University entrance scholarship application form, which resumes on the 1st of October and closes in January the following year.
Ghana and Pakistan students would participate in the examination in courses relative to their department, the examination will be held in students or prospective students’ schools or colleges from February after completion of the Bangor University entrance scholarship application form in January.

Dr. E.T. Davies Scholarship is open to only Ghana and Pakistan students who are natives of Wales and must have attended secondary school in Wales, with a scholarship fee of £1,500.
The John Hughes Scholarship is open to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born in the country of Anglesey, Conwy, Gwynedd or who are residents of Anglesey, C Conwy, Gwynedd with a scholarship fee of £1,500.
The Richard Hughes Scholarship is available to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born or resident in Anglesey, Conwy, and Gwynedd with a scholarship free of £1,500.
Thomas Hughes Scholarship is available to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born or resident in Anglesey, Conwy, and Gwynedd with a scholarship free of £1,500.
William Pritchard Scholarship is available to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born or resident in Anglesey, Conwy, and Gwynedd with a scholarship free of £1,500.
Lady Gladstone Scholarship is available to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born or resident in Denbighshire, Conwy, Flintshire, and Wrexham Maelor with a scholarship free of £1,500.
Piercy Scholarship is available to Ghana and Pakistan students or Ghana and Pakistan prospective students born or resident in Denbighshire, Conwy, Flintshire, and Wrexham Maelor with a scholarship free of £1,500.
In conclusion, the GREAT scholarship is only available to Ghana and Pakistan students who are self-funded. Ghana and Pakistan students who applied for the Great scholarship are not allowed to apply for any other scholarship at Bangor University.
