Bowen University holds its 16th Convocation Ceremony.
The vice-chancellor Prof. Joshua Ogunwole invites the entire public, graduands, and parents to its 16th Convocation Ceremony[aca-year]
The 16th Convocation Ceremony will be held at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor of Bowen University has planned a lot of activities, set for the Convocation Ceremony.
The Directorate of Students’ Support Services wishes to inform the graduating students of Bowen University that two invitation cards have been approved by the management of Bowen University for each graduating student.
This will therefore grant parents or guardians access to the Convocation Ceremony venue on 9th November2024.

Events of the Convocation Ceremony at Bowen University

The Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, will honour the Ebola heroine and physician, late Stella Adadevoh, with a Doctor of Science in Public Health which will be done by the vice-chancellor.
The Vice-Chancellor will also give out awards to both undergraduates and postgraduate students who finished their degrees successfully and came on top in their class as part of activities marking the 16th convocation ceremony of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, also gave a speech during a press conference during the convocation ceremony at the university campus.
The vice-chancellor himself said the heroine[Stella Adadevoh] deserves to be honoured for saving the lives of many Nigerians by preventing Mr Sawyer, an American-Liberian lawyer, who collapsed upon arrival at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos in late July 2014, the first victim of the Ebola virus.
The VC said the woman surrendered her life for the ‘greater public good,’ saying Nigerians needs to learn to celebrate others and encourage others who are willing to protect the country.
A guest speaker who was once a former president of our great country Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will deliver a lecture on ‘The Nation and University System’ at the 16th convocation ceremony at Bowen University.
Prof. Ogunwole also disclosed during the Convocation Ceremony that about 60 students are graduating with first-class positions out of 1,014, boasting that the university has produced students that are making waves all over the world, he continued by saying how proud he was of the students that gave him the honour to experience such in his time.
The Vice-Chancellor also went back through memory lane as he lamented the lack of funding in private universities, adding “despite this limiting factor, Bowen University was still able to stand out among public universities with all the support from their federal and state governments.
Speaking on the quality of students produced by the university, Prof Ogunwole said the institution’s entrepreneurship is targeted at what can make the society and world better.
In conclusion, the Convocation Ceremony would not hold virtually but physically, but in spite of that covid-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to.
All cars/vehicles and even Individuals would be searched before they are allowed into the venue for the Convocation Ceremony.
Parents /Guardians are asked to cooperate and not pick offences, this is all a means set up by the management of Bowen University to ensure high standard security during the Convocation Ceremony.
