Caleb University Scholarship Grants 2024
Caleb University is a private university, located in Imota in Lagos State, Nigeria. Established on the 7th day of January 2008 by its visionary founder Prince Oladega Adebogun, the university has shown resilience and is thriving.
History of Caleb University
The history of the university has its beginnings in 1968 when Prince Oladega Adebogun, moved with a passion for unique and quality education planted the initial seed for a nursery and primary school in the heart of Mainland, Lagos.
What gave him the motivation to start up the school?
Well, it was the ever falling and degrading quality of education the public sector offered coupled with parents’ demands for a high standard school that dishes out quality education as well as inculcates priceless Christian morals and values.
Prince Oladega Adebogun took a good look at the educational system and knew he had to contribute his quota to the enhancement of education quality. This was what led to the creation of Caleb Nursery and Primary School.
The establishment of this primary arm paved the way for the future establishment of the Caleb International College in Magodo, GRA, Lagos in the year 1995.
Prince Oladega Adebogun decided that supplying only quality primary education wouldn’t really create the desired effect he dreamed of.
He knew he had to set up a secondary education sector to further train and inculcate values in pupils. The College served as a natural transition path for many pupils who had attended the Caleb Primary School
To enhance its ability to achieve the qualitative education for which it was created, the College initiated the necessary process for the introduction of a Cambridge O’level program and International General Certificate of Education (IGCE) in 2004, fortifying its students for excellence.
Caleb International College was truly recognized as an International organization in 2004 when it was accepted as a full member of the International School’s Association (ISA).
It took some years to meet the Federal Government of Nigeria’s guidelines but finally, on the 7th day of January 2008, the dream became a reality.
And the University started a full academic program with the admission of its first set of students, totaling one hundred and forty-one (141) students – Eighty-three (83) males and fifty-eight (58) females.
Caleb University was awarded the International Outstanding University with quality education and moral standards award, in accordance with its mission which states “to provide opportunities for a globally competitive education and research in a Godly environment and positive societal impact.”
Also, the University ranks 82nd in the country, Nigeria; and 10279th in the world. Are you thinking of applying to this university? Do not be discouraged because of its ranking. The University is making tremendous progress.
