Direct Entry Admission Scholarships at the University of Manitoba 2021/2022
The University of Manitoba offers Direct Entry Admission to recognize the achievements of secondary school graduates to assist in financing their undergraduate studies as they gain admission into the University of Manitoba.
Each year at the University of Manitoba new students who successfully applied for the direct entry admission scholarship receive over $2.5 million dollars for the entrance scholarships.
However, before interested applicants will be eligible for the direct entry admission scholarship at the University of Manitoba they must fulfill the requirements set by the University of Manitoba such as;

- Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance Awards
Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance award at the University of Manitoba offers three yearly scholarships with a monetary fee of $6,000 each to interested Canadian secondary school students who:
Must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
They must have graduated from a Canadian secondary school or CEGEP not more than a year and 6 months before the resumption of the present academic session at the University of Manitoba.
They must have shown or expressed their financial need based on a Government Student Loan assessment from their home province and they must ensure they have completed the University of Manitoba bursary application form online.
Interested applicants should also ensure they must have registered for full-time study at the University of Manitoba with not less than a minimum of 18 credit hours in their previous University or any faculty/ school at the University of Manitoba that grants admission to students directly from secondary school.
Interested applicants or prospective students applying for the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance must endeavor to possess a minimum average of 80% in the secondary school courses they intend to use for admission into the University of Manitoba.
Interested Applicants who want to apply for the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance must ensure they submit a complete copy of their final government loan assessment from their home area for the present year academic session at the University of Manitoba, alongside their updated and correct application form for the University of Manitoba bursary.
Please note that the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance award at the University of Manitoba can be renewed from the second, third, and fourth years of a student’s undergraduate bachelor’s degree course at the University of Manitoba.
Successful applicants for the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. Entrance award at the University of Manitoba must ensure they maintain a full-time course load, successful applicants should also ensure they achieve a minimum sessional grade-point average of 3.5 for each year and ensure that why they continue to apply for the Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. - Chown Centennial Scholarship
Chown Centennial Scholarship at the University of Manitoba is given to applicants who were nominated by prestigious secondary schools.
Please note that applicants or secondary school students cannot directly apply for the Chown Centennial Scholarship at the University of Manitoba.
The University of Manitoba invites all secondary schools located in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario to select suitable applicants for the Chown Centennial Scholarship at the University of Manitoba which is currently a monetary award valued at $1000 for each student.
The Chown Centennial scholarship award would be given to the best graduating students from the school chosen by the University of Manitoba, secondary school students would be picked according to the criteria set by each secondary school.
Please note that applicants who gain the Chown Centennial scholarship could also gain any other University of Manitoba Entrance Scholarship at the University of Manitoba.
Picked candidates for the Chown Centennial scholarship at the University of Manitoba should have Grade 12 with an average of 85% or greater in courses that meet the University of Manitoba admissions criteria for the undergraduate courses.
Recommendation for the Chown Centennial scholarship award by their secondary school and admission into any of the courses at the University of Manitoba.
Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario secondary schools will be sent an official nomination form by the University of Manitoba either in late May or early June and would be asked to return the complete nomination form to the Financial Aid and Awards Office by June 30th of the present year at the University of Manitoba.
Please note that successful applicants will receive their Chown Centennial Scholarship award letter either in late June or early July of the present academic year from the University of Manitoba.
- The Asper Foundation Entrance Bursary
The Asper Foundation entrance bursary gives out offers renewable bursaries at $1,000 each for secondary school students who:
• Are registered full-time with at least a minimum 60% course load either within their first year of study in their previous University, or any faculty/college/school at the University of Manitoba.
• interested applicants must have achieved at least a minimum average of 70% in their secondary school courses used for admission into the University of Manitoba.
