Aalto University Offers Incentive Scholarships for Students in Finland, 2022
Vice president for Education Petri Suomala at Aalto University, has decided to put into motion the Incentive scholarships for students in Finland.
However, the scholarship would be awarded only to doctoral students, who meet the eligibility criteria from the 1st of January 2022- the 31st of December 2025.
However, the incentive scholarships at Aalto University are available to all courses offered, by students at the doctoral level EXCEPT the School of Business.
Incentive scholarships at Aalto University are divided into 2 categories which are;
To qualify for the 500€ incentive scholarship, the following must be done;
Applicants must submit 2 scientific articles, as a part of their doctoral thesis, in which the applicant must be recognised as the main author, published via a publication platform specified by Aalto University.
Please note that a student is only eligible to receive not more than 2 500€ scholarships, from the Aalto incentive scholarship scheme.
While to qualify for the 2,000€ incentive scholarships the following must be carried out;
Regardless of what category applicants fall into, please note that applicants would only receive the scholarship after they must have completed their doctoral degree at Aalto University.

Eligibility Requirements and Application Procedures Incentive Scholarships for Students in Finland
This section contains application procedures, eligibility requirements, and other necessary information that applicants must take note of while applying for an incentive scholarship at Aalto University.

While filling out the application form, applicants are expected to finish and save one session before proceeding to another session.

1. Personal Information
Applicants are expected to write their full names correctly as written on their passports.
Applicants should then choose their faculty or school of a doctoral degree, in the drop-down menu on the page alongside their chosen department or course.
Applicants should then upload or type their Finnish personal ID number. But in a case where applicants do not have that number, then they should contact the doctoral education service within their department at Aalto University, and explain to them that they are applying for the incentive scholarship without their Finnish ID number.

2. Applicant information
Applicants would be required to write an email to their supervising professor, then input their enrolment date into the doctoral course at Aalto University, admission date into the University and the scholarship they wish to apply for.
3. Bank & tax information
Applicants must then input their bank details correctly. Information required is dependent on the applicant’s bank and country.
However, if the information provided is not genuine then the scholarship will not be paid.
Please note that the bank account number provided, by the applicant must be in the IBAN form and must submit a correct BIC code too.
The incentive scholarship fund will only be paid to an account number that is in the applicant’s name. Aalto University will also notify the Finnish tax officials of the fund paid to the applicant’s account.
4. Application Information
Applicants must answer the following questions in the various categories below.
500€ scholarship
Have you ever received a 500€ scholarship at Aalto University?
Applicants must include their publication forum; upload the full title of their written and published journal, include their DOI link, the applicant should upload their volume and year of publication for their journal, applicants judo raring, impact factor if applicants publication on CHEM and ELEC, the title of their written articles.
While for the 2000€ incentive scholarship, applicants should answer the following questions;
On what date did you complete your last study?
On what date did your pre-examination meeting hold? That is what date, were your pre-examiners appointed.

5. Required attachments
Applicants applying for the incentive 500€ scholarship should ask their supervising professor, to acknowledge via email that their written and submitted articles are part of their doctoral thesis.
Applicants could check the website for Aalto University’s specific definition, and attach it to their online incentive scholarship application form.
While applicants applying for the incentive 2000e scholarship should submit, or upload the results of their previous records.
6. Submission of the application
Before you apply successfully, endeavour to go back and cross-check all previously filled sections in case of errors or missed gaps.
Please note that for each session filled you must click save and submit each session separately.
Applicants would be notified by their browser when their application form is successfully submitted, and should not forget to email a confirmation alongside their ID.

Payment of the Incentive Scholarships at Aalto University
Once applicants’ doctoral department has processed their application form and confirmed it, then their updated information will be transferred to the Aalto University payroll system, which may take some time.
the duration of the procession is dependent on the situation at hand at Aalto University. Applicants are therefore advised to follow all set instructions, carefully and submit the right attachments documents were necessary.
However, the payment date for the Incentive scholarship at Aalto University is slated to hold, on the 15th and 30th of each month.
In conclusion, interested applicants are free to apply from now till 2025 regardless of whether they are international students or not.
