It became affiliated with the federal Victoria University in 1887, alongside sides Owen college (now known as the University of Manchester) and the university of college Liverpool (now the university is Liverpool).

Leeds University business school accounting and finance department scholarship: The accounting and finance department calls out applications from excellent candidates interested in the areas of accounting, finance, and banking for a fully-funded scholarship opportunity, starting in the 2021/2022 academic year.
Participants are expected to be highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about research as these opportunities are quite competitive.
Country Eligibility: This opportunity is open to international and domestic students.
Duration Of The Award: This is a full-time (3 years) scholarship award. The award is set for the first year and renewable for a further period in light of satisfactory academic progress.
Funding: The award covers full fees at the University of Leeds’s standard rate of fees plus a maintenance grant at the standard UKRI rate.
Other Conditions: Applicants must not have been already awarded or be currently studying for a degree in the university.
Awards must be taken up by 1st October 2022.
The awards are available for new postgraduate researchers undertaking full-time or part-time research studies leading to the degree of PhD. Students who are already registered for a PhD research study are excluded from applying.
Applicants are mandated to live within a reasonable distance of the University of Leeds whilst in receipt of this scholarship

EPSRC Mathematical sciences Doctoral training partnership – University of Leeds, UK 2022 is open for international students and domestic students. The scholarship allows Ph.D. level programmes in the field of Mathematical sciences taught at the University of Leeds. The candidate qualified will be presented an award consisting of the award of fees with a maintenance grant for 3 – 5 years.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants to research degree programmes are mandated to have at least a first-class or an upper second British bachelor’s Honors (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
School of Mathematics: The minimum English language entry requirement for research postgraduate research study is an IELTS of 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each component (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) or equivalent. The test must be dated within two years of the start date of the e start date of the course in or solid.
School of computing: the minimum English language entry requirement for research postgraduate research study is an IELTS of 6.5 overall with at least 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in reading, listening, and s, peaking or equivalent. The test must be dated two years of the course’s start date.

Leeds Institute of Textile and colour (LITAC) scholarships: Six scholarships apply to only the United Kingdom-based applicants applying for a PhD within the University of Leeds Institute of textiles and colour (LITAC), hosted by the school of design at the University of Leeds.
Research students at the end of the program are expected to have developed the ability to pursue research that advances the disciplines of textile technology, textile and fashion design, polymer science, and colour technology to find solutions to global issues using advanced research tools and techniques.
The LITAC-funded PhD scholarship programme provides funding for University fees and an annual maintenance grant of 16,263 GBP.
Entry Requirement: Applicants are to have at least a first-class or an upper second class bachelor’s Honour (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline and a distinction or predicted distinction at the master’s degree level.
