Types Of National University of Singapore Scholarships Grant
1. ASEAN scholarships grant
The university is dedicated to giving quality education, and influential research that will be of service to the country and the world at large
This scholarship was created for freshmen
The scholarship is offered to support outstanding freshmen who are ASEAN members or from ASEAN countries.
ASEAN countries include
* Brunei Darussalam
* Cambodia
* Indonesia
* Lao PDR
* Malaysia
* Myanmar
* the Philippines
* Thailand
* Vietnam
Applicants that will be shortlisted have applied to study an undergraduate program at NUS.
They will be considered through their applications for the undergraduate program at the university.
Since it will be done through their application there would be no separate application required for this scholarship.
Eligibility
All applicants must be
– A citizens of an ASEAN* country excluding Singapore
– Applicant must have strong leadership qualities and the potential to pass on knowledge
– Applicant must have a good curricular activities records (both past and present records)
– Applicant must possess an outstanding high school results
– Applicant must have applied for admission to a full-time undergraduate degree at the university
Benefits
– Tuition fees Subsidy
– $5,800 living allowance every year
– $1,750 computer allowance for a year
– $3,000 accommodation fee yearly and more

Terms and Conditions of this scholarships
– This scholarship will be awarded to the selected applicant to study a full-time undergraduate program at NUS.
– This scholarship can also cover students in Double Degree and Joint Degree Programs
– This scholarship can only cover the undergraduate course for students in Concurrent Degree Programs.
– This scholarship won’t cover students in the Concurrent Degree Program
– The scholarship award will last only for the course duration of the selected applicant.
– This scholarship can be transferred across the department
– The following departments are excluded from the above
* Dentistry
* Law
* Medicine
* Music
Please note that
There is no bond attached to the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship
students can also take up the MOE Tuition Grant to receive scholarships.
Singapore Permanent Residents and international students who take up the MOE Tuition Grant will be bonded under the terms of the Tuition Grant which is to work for any Singapore-registered company for 3 years upon graduation.
The selected applicant in the department of Medicine will have to undertake a service bond with the Singapore Ministry of Health 6 while Dentistry will do the same for 5 years.
Selected applicants should not hold any other fellowship, bursary, grant, scholarships award, or allowance without the approval of the University.
This scholarship will be monitored every semester
This scholarship will be renewed every year
Selected applicant must maintain a Cumulative Average point of 3.5 every semester
Selected applicants must be of good behavior and conduct.
Selected applicants are restricted to a 1-semester study program overseas during the entire course of their studies.
This scholarship doesn’t come with employment after graduation
For a selected applicant who decides to withdraw or terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University owns the right to impose repayment of all scholarship benefits being given.
Please note that
There are limited scholarship opportunities for Dentistry, Law, and Medicine students.
This is due to the competitive nature of the course.
Application Process
Applicants that will be shortlisted have applied to study an undergraduate program at NUS.
They will automatically be considered through their applications for the undergraduate program at the university.
Applicants will be assessed for this scholarship based on
* Their strength during filling their applications
* Their performance in the scholarships selection
A shortlisted applicant for will be informed about the interview in their e-mail
Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide a submission furnishing their achievements, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement, before the interview(s).
Shortlisted applicant interviews will be conducted from January to June
Selected applicants will be informed of the scholarship outcomes by mid-July.
If the applicant did not meet the criteria NUS will hold the scholarships for that session

2. The Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarships
This scholarship is also offered to freshmen to help support outstanding students from Asian countries.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must be
– A citizen of an Asian country excluding Singapore
– Applicant must have strong leadership qualities and the potential to pass on knowledge
– The applicant must have a good curricular activities records
– Applicant must possess an outstanding high school results
– Applicant must have applied for admission to a full-time undergraduate degree at the university
– Applicant must have applied to study one of the following programs
* Computing
* Engineering
* Science
Scholarship Benefits
Tuition fee subsidy
Compulsory fee
$6,000 living allowance yearly
S$1,750 computer allowance for only a year
S$200 settling-in allowance only for a year
Accommodation allowance yearly
One-way air passage (coming and returning) from the applicants country to Singapore at the beginning of the course of study, and the end of the course
