1. Ph.D. Scholarship in Simulation of Low-grade Copper Ore Heap Leaching performance to Enable Accurate Copper Recovery Forecasting
This scholarship is available to those who wish to work on the research of mineral resources recovery and mining site environmental management.
The selected candidate will gain deep knowledge in innovative processing protocols for complex mineral processing, column leaching, and mining site environmental science through practical experiments.

This scholarship sums to $33,000 yearly for three years full time study program

– The applicant must be able to provide evidence of adequate written and oral communication skills
– The applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team
– Applicant must meet RMIT’s entry requirements for the Ph.D. by research program.

2. Ph.D. scholarship for investigating the health impacts of social housing retrofits
This scholarship will be in a form of a project to check the health and wellbeing outcomes of large-scale social housing retrofit programs in Victoria which may involve the replacement or removal of old wood, electric, or gas-fired heaters and then replacing them with new energy-efficient systems, draughtproofing and new or upgraded cooling systems.
The scholarship project will investigate the cause-effect mechanisms in explaining the nature and direction of intervention outcomes.
The scholarship project will integrate health, social, and building science-based investigations and involve concurrent quantitative and qualitative research components for complementarity.
The scholarship project will be used to seek a better understanding of the effects of these housing retrofits on engineering-based outcomes, health outcomes, and the social constructions of essential domestic energy services such as heating and cooling.
The project is part of the NHMRC Healthy Environments And Lives Network, which will provide international leadership in environmental change and health.

3. Ph.D. Scholarship in developing miniaturized peripheral nerve interface technology.
This scholarship is a collaboration between RMIT University and Bionics Institute (BI).
This scholarship is in a form of a project to help expand BI’s vagus nerve stimulation technology and utilize novel thin-film fabrication techniques to develop a miniaturized peripheral nerve array for the abdominal vagus nerve of mice.
The scholarship was established so its project can clinically be used for the treatment of numerous human diseases such as epilepsy, heart failure, and obesity.
Bionics Institute has developed and validated an electrode array for long-term implantation onto the abdominal vagus nerve of rats and sheep.
The goal of this project is to expand vagus nerve stimulation technology.
