Course Description
The University of Manchester Optometry course enables students to discover the scientific principles that entail the course which also includes;
– The anatomy of the eye
– The processing of Vision in the brain
– Properties of light
Students get to take advantage of a one-week clinical placement at Royals Eye Hospital and students also get to attend regular specialist clinics in their final year, all these are made possible because of the strong relationship the University of Manchester has built with Royals Eye Hospital.
Graduates of the university get to be able to register as an optometrist after a one-year pre-registration placement has been done.

Value of Scholarship
Each successfully selected applicant will receive an award with the sum of £2,000 to support their education cost at the university in the United Kingdom.

Course:
The bursary is accessible only for the University’s undergraduate degree programs which are in biology, medicine, and health.

The criteria used for consideration last year are different from what will be used this year
– However, if an applicant should register for the optometry course they will require to complete the enhanced DBS check during the first semester of formal teaching.
