The University of Cologne Doctoral Approved Scholarship 2021/2022
The University of Cologne is giving out Doctoral Scholarships to help both international students and residents who wish to continue their education journey at the University of Cologne.
The Approved Doctoral Scholarship at the University of Cologne is assisted by the Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) which is contained in the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
One of the Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne is that of the Graduate School of Geosciences (GSGS), which is giving 2 scholarships to interested students offering a doctoral course at the University of Cologne.
Two other Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne are awarded in July for the present academic session at the University of Cologne.
While two other application forms for the doctoral approved scholarships will resume in November and would continue till the 3rd of January the following year.

Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne will offer funding to help Doctoral students or applicants in their research practices with a monetary fee of € 460 for each year, which would be available to candidates who are holders of the Doctoral Approved Scholarship and are from emerging countries while candidates who are from industrialized countries will receive € 230 for each year to help fund their research work.

Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne under special conditions will offer funding to help Doctoral students with their monthly accommodation expenses.
Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne will offer funding to help Doctoral students with funds to take care of their children and spouses such as; a monthly income of € 200 for each child of doctoral students at the University of Cologne and a monthly income of € 275 for both doctoral students and their spouses.
Doctoral Approved Scholarships at the University of Cologne under special conditions will offer funding to help Doctoral students ease their financial stress as they purchase their material resources, and would also give a supervision allowance of € 1,000 for each year to assist doctoral students.
Please note that the supervision allowance will be paid to doctoral students as soon as they apply for a doctoral course at the University of Cologne.

Interested applicants for the Doctoral Approved Scholarship should upload the document using the DAAD portal at https://www.mydaad.de.

Please note that each Approved doctoral scholarship that is inbuilt into the DAAD scholarship scheme will run for a period of 4 yrs to help assist doctoral students better.

• an abstract of a doctoral student’s proposal is not more than a page and must include the name of the graduate school that sorts the doctoral student for the scholarship.
• an updated CV from the doctoral applicant or student.
• a letter of motivation must be submitted by the doctoral applicant or student alongside their application form for the scholarship.
• doctoral students update the time table of their proposal which must include data about possible physical studies/online studies.
• doctoral students certificate from their previous undergraduate bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree, and yearly examination that must have been taken at their residence University.
• doctoral students must also include data that specifies that they have previous experience with the language necessary for the graduate school at the University of Cologne.
• doctoral students must also include data or documents that show that the doctoral applicant or student has completed the research or practical work they were supposed to carry out.
• doctoral students or applicants should also include a list of publications they have done.
